CBA direct mail cooperatives save clients money, headaches and frees them up to do important major gifts fundraising

CBA conducts direct mail cooperatives for multiple public TV stations, environmental groups and public libraries. Participants can benefit from volume prices through cooperative production buys, joint list rentals and innovative creative.

Client Challenge:

One of six public libraries in a recent co-op campaign, this large regional library needed to expand its direct mail fundraising efforts to increase new donor acquisition. They learned that renting mailing lists of potential donors on their own would not be possible and too expensive because they couldn't meet minimum rental quantities.

CBA Solution:

By joining the National Library Direct Mail Consortium, created and managed by Carl Bloom Associates, in partnership with five other libraries, the library was able to access dozens of mailing lists because, collectively, they met rental minimums. The library received top quality copy and design and had a full staff of direct marketing professionals at their disposal.

The library actually cleared a small "profit" on their acquisition mailing, which is most unusual. The valuable respondees were added to their donor database and are being asked to donate again during the year. CBA manages library consortium mailings both in spring and fall.
